YORK Acorn ARLC veteran Adam Endersby has been selected again to represent the GB Bulldogs Over-35s team at the prestigious Dubai 7s.

The Bulldogs, who will play in the 10-a-side International Veterans competition at the famous rugby union extravaganza, are made up of rugby league players turning their hand to the other code.

And 36-year-old Endersby will travel for a second time having made his bow last year.

They fly out on Sunday, November 25 and return on Monday, December 3. They will train on the Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of the group games on Thursday and Friday, while the knock-out stages and final will be held on Saturday.

Endersby said: "I've been before and know what to expect. There are areas I need to work on, but I'm going to start training and preparation next week - going to new classes at Centurion Fitness and cleaning up my diet.

"I'm going to go in better shape so I'm mentally and physically prepared for it.

"Last year I had a couple of personal problems going on but now I've got a chance to represent the country again, which I'm really proud of.

"I want to go and do myself proud and I will give myself the best chance to do that by training.

"I'm a big believer that hard work pays off and I'm hoping I can do that."

The Vets competition takes place at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai alongside the main tournament.

Teams come from Russia, France, South Africa, Scotland, Wales and the Armed Forces, with some comprising ex-professionals.

On his side's chances, Endersby said: "I think it's the strongest side squad we have had, this year. We're going to win it. We're going over there with that mentality."

The Bulldogs, who are raising awareness for Rugby League State of Mind, are one of just two rugby league teams involved, the other being Wigan-based Joining Jack.

Endersby had spells at League One level with Gateshead Thunder and hometown club York City Knights in the 2010s, and played at amateur international level for BARLA Great Britain Under-23s, the GB Community Lions and the English Lions.

He has sponsorship for the upcoming trip from PBH Rail, Centurion Fitness and Kev Warters School of Motoring, but is looking for some more and anyone interested can phone him on 07834 236850.
