THE emphasis on match angling now autumn has arrived begins to switch below York and, as a prequel to the Ouse Championships and York Winter League, York District Angling Association holds an open match on Fulford, Palace Ings and the Donkey Woods on Sunday.

Zach McCracken and Harry Towers won the junior events fished last Saturday as part of the New Earswick Open Day.

The next YDAA Veterans Match is on Laybourne (Marleys) on Wednesday, with the draw at 11am and fishing from midday until 5pm.

Any notices of motion for the upcoming York DAA annual general meeting should be submitted to the secretary by Wednesday, October 10, accompanied by the names and membership numbers of the proposer and seconder, both of whom must be present at the AGM on Wednesday, November 21.

Anglers are reminded that net dips provided at fisheries should be used whenever possible with nets being allowed to dry for at least 10 minutes to avoid the spread of infection. The best way to prevent any disease being transferred is to ensure all nets are thoroughly dried out in between visits to fisheries.
