Josh Tongue claimed two of four afternoon wickets to fall as Yorkshire, replying to 340, reached tea on day two against Worcestershire at 214-7.

Yorkshire started the afternoon session at 83-3, with Gary Ballance the standout performer for the visitors with an unbeaten 89 off 132 balls.

Left-arm spinner Ben Twohig - from Birstall - and seamer Dillon Pennington also struck.

Twohig had former team-mate Tom Kohler-Cadmore lbw as he played back to a full ball as the score fell to 117-4 after 29 overs.

Ballance and Jonny Tattersall shared 44 for the fifth wicket before the latter was bowled by Tongue, who later removed Steve Patterson the same way as the score to 193-7 after 49 overs.

Sandwiched in between, Pennington had Tim Bresnan caught at second slip.

Ballance had reached his fifty off 69 balls with nine fours.

Farsley's James Logan, dropped at short-leg on nought by Alex Milton off Tongue, will begin the evening on five.
