YORK City supporters will get the chance to buy a special piece of Bootham Crescent memorabilia at a Moving Home Auction.

Included in the sale of selected fixtures and fittings from the 87-year-old stadium will be collectors’ items such as turnstiles and dressing-room doors.

The auction is one of a series of events that has been announced by the club to mark the move from Bootham Crescent to Monks Cross next summer.

Also planned is an End of an Era Banquet on the pitch, a City Heroes Farewell Game and a Season Finale Dinner and Awards Night.

There will be a chance too for groups of friends, local teams, work colleagues, schools or youth organisations to hire out the ground and enjoy one last game on the hallowed turf.

The Season Finale Dinner has already been scheduled for Saturday, April 27 at the Park Inn on the evening of the Minstermen’s final game of the regular National League North season at home to Telford.

All City’s players and management will be in attendance for a two-course meal with music late into the evening and awards presented by club officials and representatives from various Supporters Club branches.

The End of an Era Banquet will take place in a marquee on the Bootham Crescent playing surface with the night including a three-course meal, guest speakers and a fund-raising auction.

Players past and present, meanwhile, will take part in the Farewell Game.

Dates, times and prices for all of the events will be released during coming weeks.
