THE 48th annual York Open Bowls Tournament will start in 10 days' time.
Following the successful return of the event last year after a four-year hiatus, the 2018 tourney will take place from Sunday, August 9 to Friday, September 14, to be hosted at Copmanthorpe, Railway Institute, Rowntree and West Bank Park bowls clubs.
It all gets underway on the Sunday with the under-25s competition at Copmanthorpe, from 9.30am onwards.
Other competitions are the gents singles and pairs, the ladies' singles and pairs and the mixed pairs.
Matches continue throughout the week at each venue, with the semi-finals and finals being held at RI Bowls Club on the Thursday and Friday.
A spokesman said: "The tournament committee would like to thank Fluid Power Design, dc-architecture, Streamline Taxis, York St John University, Haven Holidays, York & District Indoor Bowls Club and Cox & Co for their continued sponsorship of the event.
