YORKSHIRE claimed two wickets in the third morning against Worcestershire at Scarborough, with the visitors relentlessly building their first-innings lead.
The Pears, replying to 216, advanced from 310-1 overnight to reach lunch at 479-3, a lead of 263.
Centurions Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali took their second-wicket partnership to 294 in 75.3 overs.
It was broken when Mitchell cut Adam Lyth’s off-spin to slip as the score became 405-2, falling for a fine 178.
Moeen has advanced to 190 not out at lunch, with Worcester scoring 169 runs in 34.3 overs this morning.
Lyth also had Joe Clarke (34) lbw in the penultimate over of the morning.
This is Worcester’s highest total against Yorkshire, beat 456-8 at New Road in 1904.
