DAVID Lloyd 1 wrapped up their season in division one of the Fulford Ladies' Invitational Tennis League with a comprehensive 72-36 win over Dunnington.

Fiona White and Debbie Holman bagged 27 games for Lloyd meaning they will finish mid-table in their first season back in the top flight.

Ellie Page and Laura Rhodes led Bishopthorpe to victory over bottom side York II, whose rescheduled match against Wigginton looks likely to be a relegation showdown.

Starbeck’s strong run in division two continued as they trounced Poppleton 79-29 with all three couples making significant contributions. Games difference could yet prove significant in their push for promotion.

Fiona Lambert and Andrea Bland were undefeated in Pocklington's 65-43 win at Castlegarth.

Division three champions Dunnington were pushed hard by Copmanthorpe, the reliable Sue Sumner and Joyce Rhodes netting 24 games to see them to a 57-51 victory.

Cliffe are confirmed as division four champions but who goes up with them is in the balance.

Wigginton rounded off their campaign with a 71-37 win over Sutton to leave them second, Sandra Burley and Catherine Field taking 29 games. Tollerton and Heworth drew, Tollerton’s top scorers being Pippa Bailey and Tina Gallon, leaving both level on points with Wig, with a game in hand.

Christine Thomas and Natasia Wisniewka starred as Sheriff Hutton toppled division seven leaders Stamford Bridge 72-36 to replace them at the top. They are now level on points, but Bridge have one more match to play.
