FOLKTON & Flixton are looking forward to a dream day out at Lord's after reaching the National Village Cup final.

The North Yorkshire outfit won by seven wickets in their semi-final away to Warwickshire side Fillongley to set up a trip to the home of cricket on Sunday, September 16.

Flixton skipper Will Norman won the toss and elected to bowl first, with Fillongley edging their way to 206-8 from their 40 overs.

Jamie Nesfield, Tom Norman and Harry Walmsley took two wickets apiece, with Jake Hatton and Richard Malthouse claiming one apiece.

In reply, Flixton bounced back from the early loss of Stuart Stocks to race to 150-1 from 21 overs before Tom Norman (47) became the second man to fall.

Opener Malthouse was next to go, having made a superb 80.

That was to be Fillongley's last success, though, as Flixton skipper Norman (26 not out) and youngster Will Hutchinson (24no) saw the visitors home.

Folkton & Flixton's first team currently sit mid-table in the Hunters York & District Senior League premier division.
