DI Moreland and Muriel Britton snatched a deciding-leg victory for Fulfordgate in their York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division one clash at Burnholme.

Earlier, Gate captain Michelle Britton had gamed in 20 darts, while there were wins for Dawn Exton and Moreland with Sarah Jackson, Marj Pearson and Jane Dobson replying for the hosts

Michelle Britton–Cara Britton subsequently edged past Pearson–Jo West to set up the thrilling finish.

Acomb Cons Club won 7-2 at Severus B, while Maxine Collinge, Sue Tate and Jody Hancock’s wins for Slipper were matched by Edinburgh’s Megan Lynes, Julie Stables and Amanda Bevan, only for victory to be secured by the former following a clean sweep in the pairs.

Christine Hayward–Anne Cornthwaite were Marcia’s match winners after Ellen Platt–Faye Hawksby had levelled against Leeman B, for whom Sal Richardson starred.

Division Two leaders Clockhouse suffered at a depleted Leeman A, whose Dawn Clarke won.

Sammy Benton and Sarah Rankeillor replied, but Debbie Witts, Denise Pittock and Margaret Yeomans gave Leeman the advantage, before Lauren Tattersfield–Rose Gray and Benton-Rankeillor levelled.

Victory was eventually sealed by Clarke–Yeomans.

Severus A were drubbed 6–3 at Tramways, whose Linda Staveley, Mollie Carlton, Wendy Sullivan and Nella Majsterek all scored.

Sue Clark replied before Flossy Crampton sealed the triumph.

Saddle were 7–2 home victors against an understrength Clifton, whose mother-and-daughter duo Alice and Cris Turgoose gained their points.

But Doreen England, her granddaughter Alex Nelson, Kath Powell and Liz Jackson set the pace and a clean sweep in the pairs added to their tally.

Puss faded after Alison Buckley and Gemma Fletcher had given them a 2-1 lead against visitors Priory, who then responded through Marianne Deamer, Sheila Harrison, Linda Embleton and Katrina Thackeray.

Embleton was then joined by mother Sandra Pallister to seal match points.

In the York White Rose Ladies League, Holgate won 5-2 at King William with Angie Hurst (109), Pat Hurst, and Jean Hussein clinching the first game.

After the scores had been levelled, Liza Moore (100), Hussein, Val Mackenzie and Hurst then took the next four games, before Teresa Walker claimed a consolation game for William.

White Horse beat Ebor 5-2 despite losing the first game.

Vicki Finney, Debs Jones, Nicky Brown and Anne-Marie Black romped through the next three games making the score 3-1.

Ebor's only singles’ winner was June Mallory, while White Horse’s Finney (140) and Joan Cuss signed off with a victory.

New Earswick Bowls were 5-2 winnes at Acomb Sports after Ann Ella, Janice Turton and Janet Curry took the first two games.

Gemma Jamieson and Astrid Tute replied for Acomb Sports before Janet Curry and Carol Tragni (133) put Earswick on thye road to victory.

New York beat Clarence Club 4-3 with Irene Taylor, Dot Haines and Den Fahey winning the first game.

Fahey, Rosie Blower, Maureen Tindall and Haines went on to win three games on the spin to place the outcome beyond Clarence who, nevertheless, hit back through Carol Sykes-Walker and Jayne Cain.

Burton Stone prevailed 4-3 home win against Indoor Bowls, whose Pam Husband and Elaine Bell (101) had given their team a 2-1 lead.

Holly McMillan, Debbie Benson and Chris Hedley went on to settle matters with singles triumphs before Elsie Blackburn grabbed a consolation win.
