Man of the match: Graeme Horne - the Knights' former Super League front-rower gave a performance of Super League quality, especially in his first stint, as Coventry were blown away early on. Joe Batchelor got four tries but misses out.

Referee: Liam Staveley (Bradford) – not bad but could have been a bit stricter on Coventry's offsides at play-the-balls.

Penalty count: 9-7

Half-time: 34-0

Weather: heavy rain abated but it was still windy and the pitch soggy after recent the deluge.

Attendance: 1,104

Moment of the match: Ash Robson's assist for Joe Batchelor's first try was quality. Smartly picking up a loose ball, Robson not only retained possession after the play had seemingly broken down but weaved a way forward, taking defenders out of the game before giving Batchelor the scoring pass.

Gaffe of the match: Joe Batchelor's early miss. Graeme Horne and Ben Cockayne had combined expertly to create the opening but Batchelor inexplicably put Cockayne's pass to ground with the try seemingly already scored.

Gamebreaker: any fears of After The Lord Mayor's Show Syndrome were wiped away inside the opening quarter as the Knights, with their much-changed pack following last week's brilliant but bruising win at Bradford Bulls, swamping the Bears, James Ford's men scoring 22 points in as many minutes.

Match rating: there will be disappointment that the scoreline was not even greater after chances were bombed, but the Knights, looking to narrow Bradford Bulls' points-difference advantage at the top of League One, still enjoyed a 13-try romp and few home fans would not have taken the 68-6 scoreline before kick-off.
