YORK Acorn produced a stunning attacking display of rugby league to bounce back to winning ways with an emphatic 74-12 home victory over an outplayed Ince Rosebridge side.

Acorn got on top of their Wigan-based counterparts from the off and were ahead after four minutes when stand-off Anthony Chilton put brother Matthew through the gap for a try which Anthony converted.

Ince Rose were almost gifted a way back in when veteran prop Tom Hill spilt the ball in his own 20, but Acorn quickly snuffed out the potential threat when centre Jordan Potter and two other tacklers forced the Ince threat into touch.

The impressive winger Ben Kingoro Tenge blasted over from 20 metres for Acorn's second try after 10 minutes before Lewis Lord crossed on 19 minutes to give Acorn a healthy 18-point lead.

Acorn continued to dominate and, after 25 minutes, a high bomb by Matthew Chilton was fumbled by the Ince defence allowing second-rower Matthew Woods the opportunity to touch down again and Anthony to add the extras.

Ince got some joy just before the half-hour when full-back Peter Valentine showed great footwork to score a fine solo try and leaving several would-be tacklers grasping thin air.

Acorn made matters worse for themselves by then putting the kick-off out on the full but recovered to produce another quality attacking moment before half-time with a pass from influential scrum-half Lewis Brown allowing Gallacher to hit a hole at pace on the angle.

The second period began in much the same way, with winger Callum Worthington's pace allowing Acorn to make the most of a spilt Ince pass before, minutes later, substitute Joe Budd broke and Lewis Lord finished from 30m.

Acorn were on a roll now and after 50 minutes, Brown sent Matthew Chilton into space to race in at the corner.

Ince briefly responded in the 52nd minute when the impressive Valentine showed true quality to sidestep his way over under the posts, but Acorn and Antony Chilton replied in kind as he produced a similar piece of skill to score a quality individual try after 57 minutes.

The rampant Acorn were full of attacking ideas now and, on the hour mark, a wonderful burst and off load by winger Tenge saw Matthew Chilton collect and race in from the halfway line for his hat-trick.

Acorn continued to exploit the Ince right-edged defence and Potter was the next player to take advantage, racing in for a 67th-minute score and the first which Antony Chilton was unable to convert.

Potter stretched Acorn's lead five minutes later when Ince failed to deal with another high bomb before a powerful run by winger Tenge paved the way for Lord to attack with flair and notch Acorn's 13th try of a rampant afternoon, Chilton failed to convert for only the second time in the game.
