YORK City’s pre-season home friendly against League Two Grimsby Town has been cancelled.

The match, which was scheduled for Saturday, July 21, will not now take place “due to circumstances beyond the control of both clubs,” according to a Bootham Crescent press release.

City currently have three home warm-up contests arranged against Barnsley (Tuesday, July 10), Bradford City (Saturday, July 14) and Leeds United (Thursday, July 19).

Admission to each game is £8 for adults and £4 for concessions with no tickets on sale in advance.

The Minstermen kick off their pre-season programme on Saturday, July 7 at Northern League Shildon and also travel to Ilkeston Town on Friday, July 27.

City have extended their early-bird season ticket discount offer, meanwhile, to Friday, July 6 at 4.30pm.

The original deadline was to end tomorrow, but supporters now have another seven days to take advantage of a saving of up to £45.

More than 1,000 season tickets have already been sold and are only available from the Bootham Crescent ticket office and club shop.
