Hornsea came within a whisker of their first victory of the season, but had to settle for a share of the points, as both sides in their match at Ripon were bowled out for 124, producing the first Hunters Y&DSCL Division One tie of the season.

When Glenn Ratcliffe (4-42) and Richard Medforth (3-16) combined to quickly dismiss the hosts, Hornsea must have felt victory was assured.

The hosts won with ease, with Andy Hawkswell making 41, and Ben Kempley an unbeaten 46.

Carlton Towers hammered Heworth by 260 runs. Tom Collins struck 83 for them, before taking 4-26 in partnership with Matthew Tom (6-41), as the visitors were dismissed for 67.

Elsewhere, Knaresborough consolidated second place, despite Chris Saltmer's 7-45 against them for Pocklington. Graeme Whiles responded with 5-47 and the visitors won by 136 runs.
