NORTH Yorkshire's Jack Laugher and team-mate Chris Mears secured silver in the men's 3m synchro springboard on day two of the Diving World Cup in Wuhan, China.
The duo, based in Leeds, registered a total of 440.64 points to finish eight points behind China's Yuan Cao and Siyi Xie (448.74).
Despite the Olympic and Commonwealth champions not taking gold, their scores represented an improvement of 22 points on their 2017 World Championship performance.
Britain's Robyn Birch and Lois Toulson had earlier secured semi-final places in the women's platform competition.
