THE undefeated top two in the Hunters ECB Yorkshire Premier League North went head to head at Clifton Park on Bank Holiday Monday - and it was Sheriff Hutton Bridge who left with their unbeaten record intact after bowling out York for 101.

Four wickets from Yorkshire’s Karl Carver (4-19) and two from Sri Lankan Dulash Udayanga (2-28) rocked the reigning champions, for whom Duncan Snell top scored with 20.

Skipper Daniel Woods (2-35) took two early wickets in the reply to give the home side hope but that was extinguished by an unbeaten partnership of 77 between Udayanga (45 not out) and Robert Pinder (35no).

Woodhouse Grange kept up the pressure on the top two with a 61-runs victory over Castleford at Sandhill Lane.

Brothers Andrew (60) and Chris (51) Bilton both made half-centuries for the home side.

Chris Wood (38) and Tom Young (34) also contributed crucial runs to an eventual total of 228-7 before becoming victims of Castleford skipper David Wainwright (4-49).

Liam Hyde (43) top scored for the visitors who could only manage 167 in reply, Steve Burdett (3-34) and Josh Jackson (3-26) with three wickets each.

Clifton Alliance made it three wins from four with victory over bottom side Acomb at The Green.

The home side found themselves struggling at 35-4, Samuel Grant taking three early wickets on his way to match figures of 6-28.

Richard Love (38) and overseas signing Darcy O’Connor (36) led something of a recovery before Acomb were finally bowled out for 178, Liam Hope-Shackley finishing with 3-39.

O’Connor (3-46) took three wickets for the home side, but Alliance skipper Scott Hopkinson with 79 and 37 from Hamid Khan ensured a comfortable four-wicket win for the visitors with more than 10 overs to spare.

Ryan McKendry starred with bat and ball for Stamford Bridge as they inflicted a fourth straight defeat on Driffield Town. McKendry took 6-16 form 12.3 overs as the visitors were dismissed for 115 of which skipper Danny Brompton contributed 30.

Ryan Gibson (53) completed a memorable Bank Holiday weekend by adding a half-century to Saturday’s 112 against Clifton Alliance, but it was McKendry who took the side over the line with an unbeaten 39.

It was a memorable day for the Sullivan household as teenage brothers Josh (3-43) and Harry (4-26) bowled Yorkshire Academy to a 79-run victory over Sessay at Weetwood.

Tom Loten’s (58) fourth half-century of the season and 56 from opener Mathew Revis helped the home side post a total of 237-6, which also included 36 from Bilal Anjum.

Stuart Peirse (3-53) was the pick of the visitors' bowlers but, with the exception of Nick Harrison (59), their batsmen struggled, Liam Carver (29) at number nine one of only three players to reach double figures.
