TEENAGE midfielder Tyler Walton has rejoined York City, while goalkeeper Jon Worsnop has left Bootham Crescent.

Walton, 19, was released by previous boss Gary Mills in May, having made his debut – and only senior appearance – as a 54th-minute substitute during a 2-0 National League defeat under Jackie McNamara.

He has impressed new City chief Martin Gray, however, during his performances for the reserves this month as a trialist during defeats against Port Vale and Mansfield.

Worsnop had been working as a goalkeeper coach with the Minstermen after being dropped by Gray following his arrival at the club.

Since then, Luke Simpson and on-loan Leeds shot-stopper Bailey Peacock-Farrell have been handed the gloves before new signing Adam Bartlett was given his debut and saved a penalty in last weekend’s 3-2 triumph at Alfreton.

Worsnop, 34, signed a one-year deal in the summer after leaving National League North rivals Bradford Park Avenue, but leaves with only 14 appearance under his belt for the Minstermen.
