CITY of York Athletic Club's under-20s men finished eighth in the Saucony English Cross Country Relay Championships at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield.

The trio of Angus McMillan, Oskar Fraser-Krauss and Josh Schofield produced the club's best display of the day, coming home just 35 seconds behind winners Loughborough Students.

There were also top-20 finishes from York's U20 women, U17 boys and U15 boys.

McMillan clocked nine minutes four seconds for the opening 3km leg, placing York ninth.

Fraser-Krauss' 9-59 effort saw them 20th ahead of the final leg where Schofield (9-02) came home strongly to secure eighth place.

Finnian Hutchinson got York's U15s boys off to a strong start, recording 6-34 for the opening 2km leg to place eighth.

Thomas Hayes (6-58) took York up to fourth, with Andrew Lawrence (7-10) bringing them home in 12th.

The club's U20s women finished 13th, with opening leg runner Georgia Rothwell (9-00) their leading performer over the 2.5km circuit.

Ella Eadon (10-01) and Lara Sterritt (10-21) completed the team.

The U17s men's race over 3km saw Josh Dickinson (9-13) get York off to a flier in fifth place.

He was supported by Kyle McLeay (10-35) and Luca Parker (9-57) to secure 20th place overall.

York's senior women's 'A' team finished 27th on their 3km course thanks to Katy Wood (10-58), Helen Wilkinson (12-01) and Charlotte Mason (11-08).

The club also entered a 'B' team, with Karen Wood (12-45), Jane Power (15-35) and Lauren Eadon (13-10) taking 82nd place.

York's U15s girls came home 63rd over a 2km course, thanks to Millie Anderson (8-19), Holly Moss (8-01) and Ella Foster (9-02).

Meanwhile, Stephen Kirk was York's leading man in the Guy Fawkes 10 race at Ripley.

Kirk clocked one hour four minutes 24 seconds for the 10-mile course to finish 15th.

Miyako Shimoji (1-26-25) was the first City of York lady home in 341st.

Elsewhere, Mason backed up her efforts at Berry Hill Park to finish 43rd in the women's event at the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k with 37-10.

Toby Fletcher was City of York's first man home, recording a personal best of 32-59 for 137th.
