THE newly-launched York City futsal team are looking for talented five-a-side footballers to play in the FA National League next season.
City have entered into a partnership with the University of York, who reached the European University Championship in Malaga two years ago under Junior Roberti.
The Brazilian coach a former futsal professional in his home country, Spain and Italy - will continue to manage the new club, who will take on teams from Tranmere Rovers, Durham, Derby, Liverpool and Manchester when the new campaign kicks off in mid-September.
Futsal is played with a heavier ball than is used in normal five-a-side and on hard-court surfaces to encourage close control.
A five-foul rule also promotes fair play with the award of ten-metre penalties.
Trials will begin tomorrow night at the University's Heslington West Campus from 7pm with anybody interested, over the age of 16, encouraged to attend.
For future trial dates, meanwhile, email futsal.ycfc@outlook.com
