FORMER York City Wembley hero Ashley Chambers has joined Sky Bet League Two Grimsby after being released by relegated Dagenham & Redbridge.
Chambers, 26, netted the Minstermen's first goal during the 2-1 National League play-off final victory over Luton Town in 2012.
He left Bootham Crescent 18 months later and, following a brief spell at Cambridge, moved to Dagenham, where he scored seven goals in 81 appearances.
Ex-City youth-team and Pickering Town attacker Liam Hardey, meanwhile, netted twice as Swedish League division three side Ytterhogdal IK caused a shock by beating first division Team TG FF 7-1.
Hardey's efforts were both long-range strikes to guide the Hogdal outfit, who top their table having gone ten games unbeaten, into the next round of the Swedish Cup.
Elsewhere, Forest Green have signed defender Harry Hickford from MK Dons, Sam Habergham has moved to Lincoln after turning down a new deal with Braintree and Lathaneil Rowe-Turner has left Kidderminster for Torquay.
