YORK City have parted company with goalkeeping coach Andy Leaning.
The Howden-born, 52-year-old only returned to the Bootham Crescent backroom staff in May following Andy Collett’s departure at the end of last season.
He had previously filled the role during the 2010/11 season, having played for the club during the mid-1980s after net-minding locally for York RI and Rowntrees.
Leaning went on to play for Bristol City, Lincoln City and Chesterfield, where he started a coaching career that has also seen him on the first-team staff at Scarborough, Barnsley, Sheffield United and Leeds.
City boss Jackie McNamara will now be looking for a replacement with former Elgin City and Arbroath net-minder Craig Hinchcliffe a likely target.
Hinchcliffe, 43, worked with McNamara and the Minstermen’s assistant-manager Simon Donnelly at Partick Thistle and Dundee United.
He was relieved of his duties at Tannadice, along with McNamara and Donnelly in September and became goalkeeper coach at Scottish League One outfit Airdrie last month.
