RELEASED Wolves defender George Swan has signed for York City in a one-year deal.
Swan, 20, is the son of former City centre-back Peter and was freed by the Molyneux club in April.
He has yet to make his professional debut but is a former captain of Manchester City under-18s, having also been part of Leeds United’s academy during his formative years.
City chief Russ Wilcox ran the rule of him during training sessions at Wigginton Road in the final two weeks of last season and has made him his second signing of the summer, following the recruitment of Crewe striker Vadaine Oliver.
Out-of-contract goalkeeper Michael Ingham, meanwhile, has agreed to sign a new one-year extension to keep him at Bootham Crescent next season.
