Riccall United are just two victories away from securing their first ever York Minster Engineering Premier Division title following a combination of results that places them in a position to determine the league title's destiny.

United beat Easingwold by six goals to nil, whilst a determined Wigginton Grasshoppers side held Riccall's title rivals and defending champions, Old Malton St Mary's, to a 1-1 draw.

The result is that the Selby side can now ensure their status as champions if they defeat both Terrington Glory and Dringhouses, as Riccall stand on the edge of their first top flight title since they last won the old Division One in 1977/78.

Riccall had been held to a goalless first half by a stubborn Easingwold Town side but, as has proved too often the case for Easingwold this term, they came completely unstuck in the second period. Regular marksmen Wayne Brook (4) and Ian Beckram (2) sealed the fate of the already relegated Easingwold side.

Wigginton and Old Malton meanwhile fought out a stalemate with few real chances at either end. Wigginton broke the deadlock around the half-hour mark when Jamie Willstrop unlocked the Malton back four before unleashing a shot that was turned in by a defender before it had crossed the line.

The second period saw Malton press the Wiggy defence from the off, and Callum Scott fired home a loose ball to ensure parity and a fair result after a Malton free-kick was only half-cleared.

Dunnington kept themselves in the hunt for third place after a convincing 4-1 win at Dringhouses. Jordan Outerbridge struck for the home side but they were overpowered by finishes from Callum Richardson, James Willmoth, Dan Barrett and Tom Richards.

Rory McCrae bagged a brace for Church Fenton White Horse as they defeated Osbaldwick 5-2 to give themselves hope of a top three finish. Johnny Marshall, Andrew Targett and Lenny Mason struck the other Church Fenton goals. Andrew Bilton and Sam Thompson struck for Osbaldwick, who were reduced to ten men midway through the game via a dismissal.

Huntington Rovers picked up another three points at York RI following a 3-1 success. Joe Milner gave the visitors a 1-0 half time lead before Gary Newton then doubled the advantage in the second half after being played through by York City legend and Huntington player-manager, Iain Dunn.

RI struck back shortly afterwards before Dunn once again turned provider, sending over a corner for Lee Jackson to head home.

Rich Moss put Poppleton United ahead against Terrington Glory, only to see Alex Yates level the scores. Nick Moss then restored Poppy's advantage but Ollie Varley once again brought Glory back on par.

A late tactical switch saw Poppleton push for a much needed three points and they were rewarded when Kevin Luke bagged a winner with minutes remaining. The victory sill looks in vain though, with Poppleton twelve points adrift of safety with just four games remaining.

Scott Nicholas put Tadcaster Magnets ahead at home to Harrison Signs from the penalty spot after just one minute, but the sides were back even when Cameron Sanderson converted a penalty kick of his own nine minutes later. Rich Pearson then gave Signs the lead after half an hour before George Phillipson fired a spectacular equaliser ten minutes from the end.
