YORK City have extended Walsall left-back Malvind Benning's loan stay by a further month.
The Saddlers defender endured a difficult afternoon during Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Northampton, conceding a penalty and being responsible for the hosts' opening goal, but City boss Russ Wilcox has decided to make his judgement based on the 21-year-old Midlander's previous five appearances for the Minstermen.
Wilcox said: "I think it's important to look at the bigger picture and his performance over the whole six games. The whole team were disappointing on Saturday but, since coming in, he's done really well and his presence will ensure we will keep competition within the group because Femi (Ilesanmi) is on his heels looking to get back into the team."
