MICHAEL COULSON and Michael Ingham are set to be among the Minstermen turning out for the York City Golf Day at Forest Park Golf Club on Monday.
A total of 28 teams are taking part, with former City stalwarts Andy McMillan and Richard Cresswell in the line-ups. Two past players teams are also teeing up, while York boss Nigel Worthington will appear at the post-round presentations.
The Stockton-on-the-Forest based course held the event for the first time last year and, since then, chiefs have been delighted by the demand.
Such has been the interest, a shotgun start may be employed in 12 months time to cater for the numbers wishing to play.
Forest Park professional Mark Winterburn said the course was in “superb” condition and a great day was expected. “A lot of work has gone into it - we have had five meetings - and quite a few people have been involved,” he said.
“That work has clearly paid off. The golf course will be absolutely brilliant for everyone playing next week - as good as it could be. Nigel Worthington will be appearing and that is one of the things that has brought the teams in.”
