FRIENDS of a transplant patient raised £1,448 for York Hospital after organising a vintage tractor rally.
The event, which saw 64 tractors drive 31 miles through North Yorkshire, was arranged by Paul and Helen Hudson, who live in Rillington, near Malton , after their friend, Robert Nutt, received treatment at the hospital.
Consultant David Border was on hand to receive the cheque at the renal unit, where Mr Nutt had attended dialysis during his recovery from a kidney transplant.
Elaine Vinter, a hospital spokesman, said: “They were so moved by his condition and the care he received in the renal unit that they thought they’d raise some money.”
