Vikings and Saxons from the Living History Group Regia Anglorum went into battle at Whitby Abbey over the Jubilee weekend.
They carried out a re-enactment of the Vikings landing on the Yorkshire coast in 866, making their way inland, sacking and pillaging as they went, and destroying the original wooden Abbey at Whitby along the way!
