CITY of York Athletics Club star Charlotte Stamp secured a silver medal at the Northern Athletics Championships women's 400m.

Stamp placed second in a personal best time of 56.51 and smashed a 20-year-old club record in the process.

She went on to seal a top five finish in the final of the 200m with a season best 25.32.

Elsewhere at the Leigh-based event, Lucy Hadaway won the senior women's long jump and set a personal and club best of 6.53m.

Ryan Gorman went home with two gold medals after winning the senior men's 100m and 200m with season best times of 10.61 and 21.44 respectively.

James Palmer placed seventh in the men's 400m final after running a 51.59 personal best in the heats.

Megan Ledden ran a personal best in the 800m (2:15.87) while Robbie Brown also set a new PB in the 5000m (14:49.47).

In the under-20s men's 1500m, Tommy Shaw recorded a season best 4:07.61.

Luke Robinson won the U20 men's javelin while Oliver Wright placed second in the senior men's competition.

Maria Schofield also took home a silver medal in the senior women's hammer.

Hannah Ellam and Tegan Wilson finished fifth and sixth in the U20 women's long jump and discus respectively.

Meanwhile, in the Northern Athletics League at the University of York, an array of stand-out performances ensured City of York finished first on points, putting them second in the overall standings.

Stamp backed up her previous performance by winning the women's 400m (56.61) while Gabi Burton won the B race in a personal best 59.40.

Burton also won the women's 400m Hurdles, clocking another personal best (65.02).

There were also wins for Tim Stratton in the 5K (16:06.16) and the 3K Steeplechase (10:45.84), Craig Pounder in the men's 400m hurdles (64.59) and Hannah Ellam in the women's triple jump (10.33m).

In the shot putt, Dan Fleming won the men's (13.77m) and David Todd won the B category (12.5m) as well as the discus (47.27m).

York's men and women's 4x400m relay teams also won their respective races.

There were second place finishes for Rob Shipley in the men's 200m (22.45), Ryan Gorman in the men's 400m (49.60), Tommy Shaw in the U20 men's 800m and Megan Ledden in the women's 800m.

Isabel O’Brien and Chrissie Dover both ran personal bests in the women’s 3K, clocking 10:18.27 and 10:51.93, respectively.

Tom Wood won the men's 200m B race in a personal best (23.18) and Grace Gannon ran a personal best (2:42.87) in the women's U17s 800m.
