Two men have been arrested following an assault in Kirkbymoorside.
The arrests came after two men were assaulted by a group of men in the town centre.
They suffered multiple injuries, including cuts and bruises, during the incident.
It occurred on West End on Saturday (1 May) at 10.40pm.
Police are urging any witnesses who have not yet come forward to get in touch.
A spokesperson said: "Two local men, both in their 20s, have been arrested and released under investigation while enquiries continue.
"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Steven Munro.
