NORTH Yorkshire Police's Traffic Bureau have seized a car after it was discovered the vehicle was interfering with police camera equipment.
Safety Camera Officers saw the Range Rover Sport travelling between Malton and Pickering over the bank holiday weekend on April 5 (Monday) and were unable to obtain a speed reading.
Despite multiple attempts, only an error message was read when officers tried to obtain the car's speed. An investigation was launched and a review of the footage meant officers determined that the car was interfering with police camera equipment.
A Traffic Bureau Constable attended the address of the vehicle owner in Malton yesterday and found that a jamming device was installed and seized the car.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "We will take action if your vehicle is found to have one of these devices.
"Check your vehicle and ensure that you do not have one of these devices fitted. If you do, your vehicle may be seized and you could be prosecuted."
