PICKERING Town Councillors have been asked if they wish to take part in a Government consultation on the issue of parking on pavements.
The survey will consider the issues caused by vehicles parking on pavements, and how this could be addressed.
One councillor commented that parking on pavements not only caused problems for pedestrians, but also for those crossing the road. It was acknowledged that many new housing developments did not accommodate enough parking spaces and in the town centre some drivers did not park with consideration for pedestrians.
The clerk will pass on the comments made in the meeting.
