FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a hedge on fire yesterday.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS) say they responded to a report of smoke seen close to an outbuilding at 1.48pm at Hutton le Hole, near Kirkbymoorside.
A spokesperson said: “On arrival crews found approximately 10m of Leylandii hedging on fire which had spread from a controlled burn.
“Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel along with the home owner, who had attempted to use their hose pipe.”
