PUPILS at Sinnington Primary School are organising their own fancy dress fundraiser.
Sinnington School Council, which includes a pupil from each year group, decided to organise a Race for Life fundraiser for Cancer Research in January, but was cancelled due to coronavirus.
Leanne Carrack, a teaching assistant and school council organiser, has recruited staff and pupils to resurrect the Race for Life during PE lessons on November 4. Pupils will complete the race in their class bubble while wearing fancy dress.
“We feel the kids have had so much doom and gloom, they deserve a bit of fun,” said Leanne.
“My little boy James, who is 17 months, is also doing a sponsored toddle to raise money for Cancer Research in memory of his grandad - who passed away two years ago.
“Cancer Research is a wonderful charity which provides vital information that could save lives.”
