NORTH Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a road traffic collision that occurred on Westbourne Grove in Scarborough.
A parked Vauxhall Astra was hit by an unknown vehicle around 3.40am this morning (Friday).
The driver failed to stop at scene and had left prior to the arrival of police.
The parked vehicle has suffered extensive rear end damage and the force of the collision moved the vehicle into the centre of the road.
"We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident," said a spokesperson from North Yorkshire Police.
"In particular, we are appealing for information about the second vehicle involved. If you were driving this vehicle or know who was, please contact the police.
"If you witnessed the incident or saw a vehicle driving around Scarborough with front end damage at about 3.40am on September 18, we would also like to hear from you."
