Quick-thinking hotel staff put out fire
QUICK-thinking hotel staff managed to stop a fire in a kitchen spreading.
Fire crews were called to a hotel in Whitby just after 8.30am on Saturday to reports of a fire in the kitchen.
A deep fat fryer that had caught fire, but members of staff managed to extinguish it before fire service arrived using a wet chemical extinguisher and fire blankets.
