A NORTON care home is celebrating a longstanding care practitioner qualifying as a nurse.

Staff and residents at Rivermead were delighted when Victoria Taylor completed her nursing degree, despite her father dying in April.

Victoria started her care practitioner career at Barchester Healthcare in 2009, eventually becoming a senior carer.

Motivated by the support from colleagues and her devotion to the residents, Victoria decided to become a nurse after completing work placements while studying.

“I’m grateful to Barchester for enabling me to do this, it’s been tough but rewarding,” said

Victoria.

“My dad sadly passed away in April during my dissertation; I didn’t know how I would get through it, but I tried to stay focused and I got a great result.

“I have worked with the most amazing people and residents, I just want to do my very best.”

Jane Perry, general manager at Rivermead, said: “The whole staff team are hugely proud of our little Vixx and what she has achieved.

“She is loved and respected by the whole team, including our residents and relatives for whom she always goes the extra mile.”
