AN apprentice spray painter has completed a highly-skilled respray of a classic car just days after celebrating his 17th birthday.

Tommy Brooks is currently on a three-year programme with Remit Group as a vehicle damage paint technician, working at Classic & Sportscar Centre/Malton Coachworks.

Owner James Szkiler said: “As a company we are incredibly proud of what Tommy has achieved. Not only has he proven himself capable of completing such a skilled task, but the level of quality he has achieved is first class and of a standard expected from a fully skilled experienced painter.

“The whole process was monitored by Tommy’s supervisor Sean Buckley who has been with our company for over eight years. The finished result of Tommy’s work on the Jaguar XJS Convertible is exceptional with an outstanding, high gloss finish. The results are credit to Tommy, his supervisors and, of course, Remit who run this apprenticeship scheme.”
