LEAVENING Primary School has re-opened to all pupils from reception to Year 6.
With the decision being down to individual schools to be flexible with their reopening, school leaders felt it was important that all pupils should be given the option to return before the summer break.
Head teacher Sian Mitchell: “Our small pupil numbers, as well as indoor and outdoor classrooms, allow us to facilitate this safely. For me, our pupils’ emotional health and well-being and social opportunities remains a key priority and to be able to welcome all year groups back may reduce their anxieties and support them emotionally.
“We pride ourselves on our community school status and by welcoming more pupils back also enables more of our families to begin to return to work.”
