NORTON Free Fridge is to reopen at the Winston Court Community Room on Tuesday, July 14.

It will then be open on Tuesdays and Fridays going forward, from 10am to about noon, when the food has gone.

During lockdown the Ryedale Free Fridge in Malton took over the Norton opening days to ensure that surplus food continued to be redistributed to the local communities.

Barbara Machin, of Norton Fridge, said: “We want to thank the marvellous volunteers there for what they have done, but we now feel it is the right time to open again in Norton.”

Ryedale Free Fridge will revert to opening on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10am until the food runs out.

The fridge will continue to work in accordance with Government guidelines to ensure everyone keeps safe.
