Emergency services are currently at the scene of an incident on the A64
EMERGENCY services were called to Old Malton this afternoon after a woman was reported in a distressed state on a bridge over the A64.
A police spokesperson said: "The road was closed for just under an hour so emergency services could help a vulnerable woman who was on a bridge above the A64 at Old Malton in a distressed state.
"She was taken to hospital where she will receive the necessary support."
The A64 was closed between the A169 Pickering interchange and Musley Bank.
Traffic was diverted through Malton.
The road has now reopened.
