A CASE of coronavirus has been confirmed at a Ryedale care home.
Rivermead care home in Scarborough Road, Norton, said there has been a case of COVID-19.
Last month, the care home, which is owned by Barchester Healthcare, had cancelled visits from the local community and urged family members and friends to minimise visits until further notice to respond to the coronavirus outbreak in the UK
A spokesperson said this evening (Friday) : "“We can confirm that there has been a case of COVID-19 at Rivermead Care Home. The home is in regular contact with Public Health England and the local authority. The safety and wellbeing of our residents and our staff is our utmost priority and we are closely following the official advice. We respect the privacy of our residents and staff in all matters and can therefore make no further comment.”
