A MAN was arrested in Thornton-le-Dale after a police pursuit involving a motorcycle.
Two motorcycles and a moped were reported stolen from Eden Drive and Asquith Avenue, in Scarborough, at about 8.20am on Friday.
At 10.45am, suspects were sighted riding around the town centre and they were seen on the outskirts of town at 11.40am in a wooded area where the moped was recovered.
A police patrol vehicle got behind one motorbike, now containing two men, at 11.55am.
The pillion passenger came off the motorbike and was arrested at Thornton-le-Dale just after noon.
The pursuit was called off soon after due to the dangerous manner of riding as the motorbike was heading back towards Scarborough.
Enquiries are ongoing to arrest the rider and locate the two stolen motorcycles - a purple Honda (registration number YY03 AWN) and a white and blue Honda GSX (registration Y851 HKY).
A 22-year-old man, of no fixed abode, remains in custody for questioning on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and dangerous driving.
