A CAMPAIGN aimed at changing drinking culture and the harmful effects of alcohol is being launched by North Yorkshire’s Clinical Commissioning Group.

Wake Up North Yorkshire has been developed after a survey revealed more than 40 per cent of people drink over the guideline amount. This is more than six glasses of wine or pints of beer per week.

“Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol can lead to a number of medical conditions which require ongoing care and treatment,” said Dr Charles Parker, from the North Yorkshire CCG.

The campaign features short videos from people, talking about how they decreased their alcohol intake.

The campaign will run until September this year.
