ANOTHER Malton & Norton RUFC Women's player has been called up for the senior England women's squad.

Morwenna Talling, 17, has become the third former Gannock player to be named in the team.

Despite her age, Talling is a regular for Loughborough Lightning, who ply their trade in the top-tier Tyrell Premier 15s.

Her form has earned her a place in Simon Middleton's 2020 Women's Six Nations squad.

Malt's head of women and girls rugby Ian Hepworth said: "It was a bolt from the blue to hear that Morwenna has been picked for the six nations squad.

"Lots of players from the women and girls teams at the club are going to Doncaster on the 23rd to watch England play Ireland and it would be fantastic to see Morwenna running out as a red rose.

"Rachel Lund and Tatyana Heard come back to see us as often as they can and it would be great to see Morwenna back too to inspire the next wave of players.

"Our girls' teams train at the club on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm (school Years 7 to 13) and the senior women (aged 17-plus) train from 7pm to 8.30pm.

"We are always looking for new players at all ages and levels of fitness or previous experience are not important."
