A THEATRE school is preparing for its first professional performance at York’s Grand Opera House.
The Francis Lyn Theatre School, which is based in the drama and dance studio at Ryedale School, is performing at the theatre as part of the Re-Take That Show, by the iStage Group, on March 8.
“It will be the students first time performing on a professional stage,” said Rachel Morris, an ex-professional dancer who studied at Laine Theatre Arts in Surrey.
Opening in September 2018, the Francis Lyn Theatre School welcomes children aged between five and 18 who want to take part in acting, singing and dancing.
“The premise is to encourage children to feel happy in their own skin and gain confidence in who they are in this social media crazy world through musical theatre,” said Rachel.
