A SEASIDE town is gearing up for its annual Fish & Ship Festival, taking place between May 16 and 17.
Whitby is expecting more than a 1,000 visitors, drawn in by a selection of activities and seafood.
The 2020 festival is expected to be bigger, with a food village populated by celebrity chefs and Whitby seafood, family entertainment, ships of all shapes and sizes to explore, a Song of the Sea competition, the lifeboat crew and much more.
“Whitby is one of the few places left in Britain where you can still experience a seafaring way of life, from sea to shore as it’s been for hundreds of years,” said Janet Deacon, the area director for Welcome To Yorkshire.
