PLANS for new homes to be built north of Scarborough Snooker Centre have been given the go-ahead.

Scarborough Council’s planning committee approved plans from Saheed Ahmed to build a pair of semi-detached, three-bedroomed dwellings on the land off Queen Street, along with a block of three, two-bedroomed flats.

The site previously had planning permission in 2014 for a similar build which was not progressed. Planning permission was required again due to the number of listed buildings nearby. The site lies behind the Queen Street buildings and has access off Friar’s Way.
