PEOPLE in the Helmsley area being urged to help the environment by donating unwanted Christmas trees.
The 1st Helmsley Scouts are organising a Christmas tree recycle scheme by collecting unwanted trees for a minimum donation of £5.
Collecting from 8am onwards on January 11 and 12, the 1st Helmsley Scouts will be in Helmsley, Sproxton, Oswaldkirk, Gilling and Ampleforth.
All the donations will go towards the renovation of the Helmsley Scout Hut, which starts in the the new year.
Donations can be made by BACS or a cheque payable to 1st Helmsley Scouts.
