A HOUSEBUILDER has announced the winner of a regional photography competition.

Rose Habberley, from Scarborough, won the competition organised by Barratt Developments. Showcasing the beauty and hidden gems of Britain, Rose won with a picture of a grouse in a field of heather, scooping a £100 prize. Rose’s picture is now hanging in the sales office at the Heather Croft development in Pickering.

Rose said: “I am so happy to have been crowned Pickering’s best amateur photographer. This particular photo was taken on the North York Moors near Goathland and it captures the beautiful colour of the heather and the unique markings on the grouse.”

Leonie Gilbertson, sales manager at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, said: “We were blown away by the high standard of photographs that were sent in, each entrant took the time to go out into their local community and capture the natural beauty of the areas in which Barratt Developments’ builds.”
