MALTON Town Council has been approached by local residents about purchasing a memorial plaque for Richard Hampshire to be installed on the bench near the Castlegate Malton In Bloom Garden.
Mr Hampshire, who was 83, died in September at the allotment in Castlegate, where he had been a tennant for more than 60 years.
Members to agreed to purchase a plaque in due course, subject to final approval.
