A NEW shop selling environmentally-smart products has opened in Malton.

Run by Steve Mason and Piers Edsall, Environment Art offers items sourced from local crafts people.

Steve said: “You can have nice things and help to save the planet.

“Our philosophy is simple, sustainability should be built into every product and by being environmentally smart in the use of materials, design and craftsmanship, you can provide something for all tastes and help create a better outlook.

“We have a wide range of craft creations specialising in products which have a personal touch.

“Every product we sell from local crafts people offer sustainability in its own individual way, from longevity and quality in our metal products, to repurposing, reusing and recycling materials to make a wide selection of craft items.

“For us the answer is simple, traditional skills and environmentally-smart craft products will not only be a growing market, but will also be needed to tackle many of the environmental concerns of today.

“Our websites are also going live very soon, but it’s not just about what’s in stock, it’s also about what that stock represents.

“Our whole business model is based around craft creations for the shop, bespoke projects for clients with skills training, all to promote sustainability into the future.

“It will serve as a contact point for all our services that we offer.”
